@DustyHorse, then why is the Honda Civic the only CNG-powered car available to a normal car buyer, and not a fleet owner? The government didn't put any restrictions on CNG powered cars.
Automakers will make CNG-powered cars if buyers demand them. What is it exactly that you want the President to do?

I personally don't believe in government incentives. If an idea or product is good or sound, it doesn't need to be subsidized. I will buy it because I want it and believe it is worth the price I pay. Otherwise, I won't buy it. I don't expect others to help me pay for it.

Finally a little common sense. While the President is chasing his pie in the sky green fuels Compressed Natural Gas is the here and now solution.

Plenty of places in the U.S. have a natural gas hookup, @Volvodude04. Even if you don't, the more people that use CNG means that gasoline demand will go down, leaving more gas for you.

I hope we see more switch, I understand there is a cost, but many cities are already doing it for fleet vehicles. There is so much more we can do.

Does Pickens honestly believe that Romney will back wind energy???
Romney is all about "Drill, baby, drill!" and Dig, baby, dig!" when it comes to coal.
I have no problem with automakers offering cars that run on CNG. They should make them dual-fuel, where you can still run on gasoline if there are no CNG fueling places available.

We have had some city buses here for several years that run on CNG. Seems like a good idea. Why not have consumer vehicles that do the same.

I agree. We don't need tax breaks. We need access to natural gas vehicles at a reasonable price, with easy access to a fuel source.

of course they will as long as natural gas companies keep ripping off the land owners who own the mineral rights to all the natural gas they are stealing for pennies on the dollar.
